Location of wells

I get teeny tiny checks from Sabine Oil for some mineral rights that have passed to me through several generations. I think the land they are on origially belonged to my GG grandparents whose graves we have never been able to locate. I have reason to believe that they were buried in a family plot on their land before it was sold. I know the name of the leases. How can I find out where the land actually is? I have a letter that says “near Overton south of the RR track.”

Thanks anyone!

If you will provide the legal description (Survey Information) and the well name(s), someone will probably be able to help you locate the drilling unit. That should get you close. Good Luck.

You can also try to look for the deeds where your family owned the land in the county records. The site is: Rusk County Clerk Official Public Records | TexasFile Then, search for your GG grandparents names. It is free to search and minimal fee to buy the deed once you find it. It will list the specific legal and you may even find where your mineral reservation was created. Good luck!
