Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Still awaiting checks from Sundance Energy for the Branson 17-04-26 1HM at the correct royalty percentage. I believe they rushed the checks that we did receive in order to beat the statutory 6 month deadline (for royalty payments from date of production and first sale)----and we have yet to even see a division order!

The well was spudded on 04-04-13 and the Completion Report of record states production began on 05-30-13. What troubles me are the preliminary flow reports / production records we received from our lease holder (also attached) showing the first 4 months of production. Does anyone else note anything strange about these flow records? It certainly gives me reason for pause and reflection!

I’d really be curious to get Robert Brians opinion on this as you’ve worked in the industry as I understand and would be familiar with such records. They are in PDF format so you may have to download them and view them on your computer.

Know some one who got $150 per rod with a 50 right of way. Was with One Oak. They had a 75’ work right of way. Good only for three pipes and no additional unless they pay more. I would put a time limit for completion as well. Been 6 months since One Oak scraped off the grass, they have yet to smooth it down and fix the fences.

STEVE HOLT, I THINK THEY HAVE ALREADY DRILLED A SECOND WELL AND ARE PLANNING FOR A THIRD, 26-17N-4W

Can anyone give me any info on a easement? Devon energy approached my husband and I about a 60" easement along our property in Payne County, it runs along the Logan County line in Mulhall. The easement is 171 rods. There will be a gas, water and crude pipe in the ditch. Devon is offering 120.00 per rod. Is this the going rate for the area? And do they just pay for one line? Not 3? They are offering the payment on just one line, I suppose because the lines are all in the same ditch/easement. We don’t want to be greedy,we figure we will be blessed further down the road, but we also do want a big company to take advantage of us.

Michael, About the penalty. In your case I would think so—If the date on their Completion Report is correct and you have ‘good marketable’ (clear) or ‘defensible’ title. You should have received something from them by 30 November.

Yes, I know about the second well. It was spudded on 11-01-13. Here are the drilling application, permit to drill and report of well spud documents from the OCC Electronic Well Database.

Martha, this is no great surprise, they holdouts to on-OECD include Russia, China, probably the most 2 significant. That girl in Pussy Riot was sent to Siberia, which pretty well says that Russian politics has not changed very much sice the breakup of the soviet Union no surprise because Vladimer Putin once headed the KGB. What I find interesting is that the quality of air in China is a total disaster all over the nation and only getting worse. Meanwhile in the OICA nations, air quality is steadily improving and for many reasons, but boils down to our new ways of producing and using energy.

they showed some video of Bejing last night live, and admitted to having to close schools because of the bad air. It will get worse, and may even affect California in the long run.

My Father contracted for a gasline years ago across our property, this was in about 1950 or so I believe, and it was in Bourbon County Kansas, across 160 acres, and the 8 8ch or so pipeline was quickly finished as he was the last to sign. I do not know how much he got or asked for, but he bought a brand new Packard automobile shortly after. LOL Beautiful car. The gas companies were constantly coming out and “accusing” kids in the neighborhood of shooting at the pipeline for “target practice.” A few bullet marks were seen a couple of farms from us, but our farm was divided also by a gravel county road into 2 sections of 80 acres each, and all we kids shot at was rattle snakes and rabbits. There were rattle snakes under dozens of huge rocks on the north 80, but nothing except coyotes on the south section, and we were not allowed to go coyote hunting where the gas line was.

STEVE HOLT THANKS FOR THE INFO. WE HAVENT RECEIVED ANY MONEY YET. WILL THEY BE OBLIGATED TO PAY PENALTIES? HOW DO I FIND PDF FORMAT? THANKS AGAIN, MICHAEL CAREY

Michael, You can just click on the blue links and the images do come up. From there you can download each of the documents, one at a time (when you’re looking at the document on the screen, move your mouse to the lower right hand corner and you’ll see options for downloading the file) to your own computer for your records.

God Bless

PS: Most computers are already configured to open PDF files (typically using Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader). Once you download them to your computer you should be able to click on them and they should open.

The EIA reports that “energy use in non-OECD countries is projected to grow by 2.2% per year, and the share of non-OECD energy use is expected to rise from 54% of total world energy use in 2010 to 65% in 2040.”

Any news on Logan County, Ok section 28-19N-2W ???

Or Logan County, Ok section 3-15N-2W ??

Thank you

This presentation is not one I believe or believe in so much as it is just to show the creative minds who are trying their best to solve or myriad of problems regarding the transporting of oil in particular. Moveable Pipelines??? Well, is it really far fetched, my first question is, “…move them to where???” No matter where they might need to go, there are many problems, permissions, deals and back smoke filled room to make before any kind of pipeline can be constructed or moved to any location or go to any destination. So they get all the okay to move the pipeline from Cushing Oklahoma, to Chicago, IL, so what do they do with the oil then when it gets to Chicago??? I see no way this could happen without lots of legal headaches, and probably a national emergance and Presidential Proclomation could ever make it happen. But this is an interesting article on the problems facing not only Logan County, but all of Oklahoma. Too much Oil and no way to market. Yet.

28-19N-2W had a well drilled from section 20. Perfed in Sept. Reupert 1-29MH. You should get a DO soon. They don’t have to pay for six months from first production. Testk data 406 bbls/day 1043 mcfd gas Mississippi Lime.

Leasing in 3-15N-2W, but no pooling yet.

Ununpentium, or newly discovered Element No 115, which is currently too unstable to be productive in its present form. But such a tiny trace of it could it not become a fraction of a fraction of an inch thick pipe ten thousand times the strength of our current metal based pipeline and weigh practically nothing, able of transporting crude from anywhere in Logan County to anywhere in the world? Only problem for this kind of future is that the marketers would still need all land owners permission – you know, Payola — to cross their property unless they constructed it a mile higher than the land, could they do this because it is so light??? I think not, because when the oil got inside the pipe, it would weigh tons anyway. Hmmmmm. Back to the drawing board… and thos two magic words, “…what if…?”

Yes, a two section lateral can hold a section with only a short piece perked in it -so far. It is legal because the Corporation Commission has given permission for it to be that way if it is a multi unit well. In OK, each section is considered its ow 640 acre spacing at those depths. There are no 1280’s unlike North Dakota where there are lots of 1280’s and even higher.

When enough people start complaining, maybe the OCC will change their minds. You might try calling for a release of the remainder acreage -if you are leased and have a horizontal Pugh clause. If you are pooled, you may not have that option. Good thing to ask an attorney.

Found this great map viewer on Stephens County page. http://gis.deq.ok.gov/flexviewer/

Anything can be contested, in court just pay the lawyer and the filing fees etc. You could sue because they are close to your house and keeping you awake all night. It probably has already been done.

I am still of the opinion that the Producers are NOT trying to put it to the mineral owners, they are more like doiing the best they can for stockholders, and their lawyers will do nothing for mineral owners, because they do not pay their bills. I doubt if the OCC would change anything if every Mineral Owner in Oklahoma marched to their fron door. It is just bigger than all of us put together, without new legislation at all levels, and that could take years and years.
