I’ve seen everything from $5/rod to $1000/rod. Needless to say I’m very confused.
We’ve been offered $6.25/ft by W&W Consulting. Seems a bit low but a friend had heard they were paying around $7/ft.
With some companies paying as much as $60/ft or $1000/rod in South Texas how come the price is so deflated here in Lavaca County?
Thank you so much for this board. It has been a tremendous help to us.
I can't tell you a good price since it varies so much. Enron was going to put a gas pipeline through my old property in Colorado and the standard rate was $1500 for 500 feet. I guess that would be roughly $50 a rod or about $3 a foot. A rod being 16.5 feet. They paid, then Enron went under. Pipeline was never built. I know you can negotiate to a degree. Sorry I can't answer directly for Texas.
Is it a flow line or transmission line? The old rule of thumb was the diameter of the pipe times one dollar per foot. A 12 inch diameter pipeline would go for $12 per foot. Prices have been climbing lately. Contact a good oil and gas attorney and they should be able to tell you the going rate in your area. Do not sign a contract without having it reviewed by an attorney.
