I own mineral rights in Grady County, Section 17-6N-6W, can I get some information on anything going on there?
Pretty sure a horizontal well is in section 17's future. Continental has filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and received an Interim Order for a Location Exception and a Final Order for a Horizontal Spacing. They have not filed a Pooling application yet. You may want to call Jackfork Land who does most of the leasing for Continental. Their number is (405) 840-5999. They just recently pooled section 5 which is straight north of 17. That pooling offered $2,650/acre with a 3/16th royalty as one of the choices. Another choice was $2,550/acre with a 1/5th royalty.
Thanks Don. How do I make sure that they have my correct address? Ill give them a call on Monday.
Jesse, I got this from an M Barnes post... "... The correct way to get the land men to find you is to send a letter to the County Recorder in each of the counties where you own minerals. List your exact mineral description and your address. It is also helpful to tell them how you acquired your interest and to list the page and book if you know where the deed was registered. If you have just inherited them, then you may have to file a Notice of Ownership and include the Decree of Distribution from the probate, the affidavit of heirship, etc. Ask the clerk how much it will cost to file. Enclose a copy and an original. Ask them to return the file, stamped copy of both documents to you in the enclosed, self-addressed stamped envelope that you have provided. The land men go to the Clerks and all the title work is done with them, so they are the correct place to file."
I believe the letter will need to be notarized, but you can call the Grady County Clerk at (405) 224-7388 to make sure. Their website is here... http://www.gradycountyok.com/drupal/clerk
