OXY has 3 Manhattan Wells showing "drilling in progress" January, February and March. 14,000 TD all in the Wolfbone.
Great place to be. They are probably in the completion process.

Hi Gary, thank you. What does14,000 TD mean? What does the Wolfbone mean? Possibility of inheriting a land royalty on 5 acres out of the 640 acres. Not quite sure what this means. Mary

Section 183/Block 1/Abstract 957/Reeves County
2 of the wells(35008 and 35014) showing on the GIS Map were permitted in September 2015. I doubt very seriously that these wells were ever drilled. Well 35877 permit was approved April 19, 2017. This link is to well 35877:

This is a 14,000' well being drilled into the Wolfbone formation.
There are some very oil and gas wells in this area.

OXY permitted wells that had a total depth of 14,000 feet. Mostly horizontal. The horizontal leg was to be in the Wolfbone Formation, Its is the hot potato in your area right now and what all the excitement is about.
According to Clint's map, the total drilling unit will be 960 acres. Means that your share of production will be 5/960 times your royalty rate to calculate the gross income. Better than a poke in the eye.
Depending on you strength of title, royalties should take at least 6 months to begin rolling in.

Can someone please explain Royalty payouts. I just pulled up the Royalty Deed and it says1/8 of 640 acres of Section 183, Block 1; there is also another persentage of 1/32 and at the bottom of the deed says 1/256. Is there a formula for Royalty payouts? We are very new to this and learning. The Deed was purchased in 1952. It says there are mineral rights, too. Thank you, Mary
Hi Clint, are those well numbers you gave me the RRC numbers of the wells on Section 183, Block 1? The RRC person says he sees 4 wells, he thinks all producing on that Section, but needs the RRC numbers so he can look up info on production. Thank you so much. I am trying to learn about this. Mary

I was seeing only 3 horizontal lines. After closer inspection I now see 4 API numbers. The RRC man is right, there are 4 wells. Earlier when I checked well 35008 and 35015 I found no spud date(begin drilling), Completion Reports or Production Data for those 2 wells. I assumed those 2 wells had never been drilled.

On well 35015 I find no Completion Report or Production Data.
