Midland Tx non producing wells

Conoco bought our lease from Diamond Back Nov 2021. Pioneer is Servicing the wells Pecan Acres 23 3, 23 8, 23 11, 23A 3, 23 PSA 3 10HS, 23 A1, 23 PSA 3 03H and 23 7. They immediately stopped producing the wells. Ever 3 or 4 months get a check for under $125.00. Pioneer will not give info on why wells were turned off. Will give no phone numbers out. How do ya find out what’s going on?

You didn’t say how large an interest you have in those eight wells but those quarterly checks for $125 sound like shut-in royalty payments instead of royalty from production.

Railroad Commission’s online records say the wells you listed were drilled by Callon, then went to Diamondback (DE3) in 2019 and were taken over by Pioneer in June, 2021. The reports Pioneer makes to RRC shows the production from those wells grouped under three lease ID’s. The Pecan Acres 23, that includes wells 3, 7, 8 & 11, is Lease No. 43618, the 23A that includes the A-1 and A-3 is #43235, and the 23 PSA 3 that includes the 3H & 10 HS is #49811.

Below are the reports Pioneer filed on those leases for the 10 months through May, 2022, which was the most recent report due RRC. They show the volumes declining, particularly on the PSA 3 wells that are the only horizontals. But all three leases were still producing, or at least reporting some sales, through May. It looks like the 23A wells were shut-in from July through October of last year, but went back into production in November.

You can also check the monthly sales revenue from those leases that Pioneer has reported to the State Comptroller’s office by going to the Comptroller’s website, CONG.

You mentioned Conoco buying from Diamondback in November, 2021 but that doesn’t match what RRC is showing. Last December Pioneer sold producing properties they owned in the Delaware Basin to Continental Resources, not Conoco, and that didn’t include the Midland Basin.
