I thought I posted this yesterday, but cannot find it, so if it is a duplicate I apologize.
I just recently found and joined this forum because I am looking for some advice. The mineral interests in question were inherited by my uncle from his mother. I am totally inexperienced and have some questions.
When I first became aware of these mineral interests, I believe that the royalties came from Conoco, Inc. Then we were notified of a change to Phillips66. I recently received a request to sign a Permit for Geophysical Operations. Would this be happening if all the interests were currently under lease? Does anyone know about Mirage-3D by McDonald Land Services? I have several old division orders and I am wondering if there might be more interests than those that are currently leased. Can anyone suggest how to determine if additional interests were held by my uncle that were not under a lease at the time of his death? If the most recent lease that I located was from 1996, is it clear that something is missing or is it possible for a lease to be for 15+ years?
The interests are in Section 11, Township-5N, Range-2W. Is there a way to locate what town this is near so that I can perhaps find out what activity is proposed or underway?
Thank you,
Ellie
It is between State Hwy. 74 and I-35, and a couple miles south of Purcell, Oklahoma. You can copy a map from ODOT, Oklahoma Department of Transportation, click Hwy info etc maps, maps section, general county roads maps, McLain County. I think the easiest way is to use print screen to copy & paste the part of the map you need.
My McLain County interests are not near yours so I have not kept up with what is going on in 5N.

Thank you for your help. My uncle did not own the surface and what interests I am aware of are already leased. That's why I was so puzzled by the request.

Ann,
Thank you for your help. Since I have lived in New Jersey my entire life, it will take some time getting up to speed with all this (including how to correctly post responses). I'm glad I stumbled onto this forum. It's good to have a place to ask questions and get good information.
