I continue to receive increasing offers to sell my minerals in this section.
I just checked the OCC website and can't find anything close that would justify an offer of several thousands of dollars per acre. I must have missed something.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might help explain this.
Is it from Bridgepoint in OKC?
I'm not sure what they are doing. I have received a couple offers from them as well. They never put an offer price on paper though. Some mineral buyers buy purely off speculation, others do their homework and only buy where there is activity. Just because there isn't activity right now, doesn't mean there won't be activity soon.
Thanks Brad, we'll keep in touch. I'm sure others received offers also and might be able to share their knowledge.

I have interest in Sec 3 T6N R5W and have not received any offers yet. I am not going to entertain any offers though. We are currently excited about our interest in SEC 12 & 13, T3N R5W since it now has 6 wells that are producing. I would just hang in there for a while longer if I were you.
Thanks John, I plan to keep mine also. Looks like activity might pick up soon in this area. Congrats on your wells in 3/5!

They are drilling the woodford shale. It is called a shale play. That is what is stirring the interest of others. I have an interest in Section 1, 6N 5W. That is a few miles North of you. (You will have to look under section 12 to find this well... search 12, 6N 5W. We have test results of 264 bod. That is a decent well.
For our Township, 6N 5W, the Woodford shale gets thicker from north to south, about 150 feet to 200 feet. Your further south so likely the shale is thicker. We see a lot of production to the south of you in vertical wells. Basically you have good wells to the north, west and south of you. The shale is fairly uniform and if they drill they have not missed bringing a well online.
The current plans projected by companies in the shareholders reports is to drill many wells on each section.
If you have any friends that want to sell their mineral interest just let folks on this board know. I don't even do this for a living and I would actually be interested, but I have to say, I wouldn't sell them without careful very consideration.
You can look up stuff on Google, look for woodford shell play, look for "scoop" etc. I read this blog from the first post to the last. Lot's of great information, if your lease comes up make sure you read all this blog it will teach you how to make the best deals, where to search etc.
Good luck and you have made a great start.
Gale, your reply is very helpful and appreciated. Thanks You, John

I have interest in 30-6/5 and also 27-6/5 and received offers from Bridgepoint as well. Maybe that is a good sign. They have a pad down on 27-6/5 now and waiting on a rig I think. HAVE MY FINGERS CROSSED!!!! :-)
