Question: a few years ago we created a “family trust”. I recently inherited mineral rights that are not in the trust. is there any benefit to my heirs to putting it into our trust and how would I go about doing it? Should I reach out to the company leasing the land to change it on their end or the law firm that created our trust?
The company leasing it likely has nothing to do with putting your newly inherited interest in trust. As far as putting that interest into trust, I would contact the law firm that dealt with the trust.
