Looking for help since my mothers passing in December related to mineral rights in her name and what to do next. The minerals are in W/2 NW/4 of sections 25-T17N-R2E, Lincoln County, OK. I contacted Sunoco who was sending her checks (they stopped about a year ago) and they said they aren’t using that well any longer but that another operator is…a couple questions. How do I find who is now pumping from these wells? How do I change ownership records from my mom to my sisters and me? Anything else I should do?
Welcome to the forum. Condolences on the passing of your mother. You may need to complete a probate depending upon how her affairs were set up. Many posts regarding that on the forum.
Any operator will need clear title documentation in order to transfer rights to you and your sister.
You can find the wells on the OCC well records site. https://imaging.occ.ok.gov/imaging/OGWellRecords.aspx
Type in 2517N02E in the location box. It will list all the wells in the section. You can use the Location listing and the royalty check stub that you have to find the NW4.
“Gross Production”
This is the OK tax site and lists which wells are reporting. You can compare it to the well records site and hopefully find the operator. Natural Resources Operating looks like a good possibility.
