I spent the last couple of hours matching wells which fell within my mineral acreage in Creek County. I recorded the API numbers and l looked up the wells for information about the operators, production, and well status. Of the 26 wells I found, most were listed as AC (active), one PA (plugged and abandoned), one Dry, one SWD (salt water disposal), and another, TM (terminated order). A few operators were listed but their production amount was not indicated or accessible. Usually the "Current Operator" box read OTC/OCC NOT ASSIGNED, which I believe, indicates there longer is an operator and the well is not in use. However, the Status box indicates Active so I'm uncertain if that is due to the last operator not informing the County Clerk, if he was even required to, or some other reason.
My main intention is to find and update previous or current operators and find out if any royalties have been held in suspension. Are there other sites which provide information about operators who have put royalties in suspension in Oklahoma that anyone knows of? I've visited the OK Treasury for unclaimed property without any luck, but one helpful clerk said to inquire into the County Treasury of the well location. She also indicated that the suspended royalties could be held at the main office of the producing company which might be located in another state. Any suggestions or advice?
Thanks--Arthur
Arthur,
This is another one you might check.

I'm not aware of any Counties which would hold funds. That is a state issue, although operators may be holding it for a bit. There is legislation requiring them to eventually turn it over to the state.
Production data is mainly maintained at the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Oil and gas numbers are there, OCC will only have Gas numbers on the database. Although there are some imaged documents with oil data, it is almost impossible to find any data there.
Do you have documentation of the last date you were paid?
Shoot me the API, Name, Legal (Section-Township-Range) for 2-3 you are having issues with.
Rick,
Thanks for the link, however, it didn't pull anything up for me. I also went to the OTC and will revisit later. Here are some wells I chose at random, not necessarily because I have issues with them, but because I just want if they are producing and if not, why are they still deemed active. Two AC wells all in Creek 20-15N-8E: Martin, 3503704021; Anthis, 3503704022. Two more in 22-15N-8E, Garton, 3593703975; Woodard, 3503703975.
I'm trying to find out well production from any unit where I hold a mineral interest. I started with Creek and have a dozen other counties to look up. Currently, and over the last decade I have received royalties from various wells in Creek, Hughes, Okmulgee, but I'm sure there has to be more production somewhere in some 75 other OK holdings, expecially with newer mineral extraction techniques. Over the years I've trusted, perhaps naively, that the companies were monitored and division orders were properly executed, but after some of the stories I've read here, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Maybe I need to hire a watch dog specialist to look into this for me.
Thanks--Arthur
