I inherited mineral rights on 15 acres in Dawson County. 3 years ago, we leased them out. I have been offered to sale. I live in Louisiana and have no idea what to do. Can I sell half? Are there any drilling permits issued on this land, or near it? Is there a new interest right now? What should I know before starting any negotiations?
@GLeCompte, there is activity in the surrounding sections. Producing wells to the East and new permits to the South and West. You can specify the percent of interest you want to sell, but it would be up to the buyer if they wanted to purchase a partial interest.
