I received an order permitting a change of operator from Chesapeake to BP for the Bonnell well #1-8h in 8-5N-11E. This order amended two pooling orders from Chesapeake, #541417 and #546761. Can anyone provide copies of these two pooling orders for me or tell me how to obtain them? We never received them as the wills had not been probated. I suppose they could not find us. The first we heard about them was when the new order was approved for BP.
Ann, pretty easy - go to Ok Corp Commission home page http://www.occ.state.ok.us/ move cursor to Divisions (about the middle of the page) then down to Oil and Gas then over and down to Imaged Documents and click. Then from the list on the left side of the page click on OAP Orders and Case Files. Then enter the order number in the box Order # and click on SEARCH (don’t fill in anything else). That will get you the document you are looking for.
There is good info in the most current newsletter of OK-NARO http://www.naro-us.org/Resources/NARO%20OK/2013%20OK%20NARO%20Winter%20Newsletter.pdf some of which apply to people who have been pooled and find out later. Take a look.
Thank you both! My late mother and grandmother were both pooled but were deceased at the time of the order. Dad (now deceased) was the heir but he is not listed. I searched both the occeweb Mineral owners escrow and the state unclaimed property but found nothing. I guess it’s possible they located Dad before but he lived with me from 2008 until his death in 2009 but his heirs were not contacted once his will was probated. We found out that grandmothers and mothers wills were not probated in OK and we are currently pursuing that path.
Could it be that Chesapeake or BP have not turned over the unclaimed funds to escrow and are still holding funds?
They definitely have not tried to contact everyone. Like you, we learned about it from the OCC notices. Interesting that the OCC can find the heirs but BP can't! When we got the notices we called BP to ask why we hadn't been receiving payments all these years. They said they needed proof of ownership. So we went to the Hughes County Courthouse last week and researched it -- and found the deed by which our great grandfather purchased the minerals in 1948. So we're in the process of working with BP to establish ownership.
