I’ve tried to attach everything in chronological order. But if you’re missing something just let me know, I’m sure I have it.

On December 8, 1936 my great grandfather Wiley Blankenship signed a lease with Roy Lee for 320 acres, who assigned that lease to Hunt Oil Company. Then on May 25, 1937 they interdicted my great grandfather. So my great grandmother now was in control of everything but she could not really read or write. So Hunt Oil Company went to court on May 25, 1938 a year later and asked the court to lease the land and the court granted the lease for 10 year period. The lease was on a “Bath’s Form Louisiana Spec. 14B-R1”.

But then on April 28, 1945, RE Anderson a gas and oil man went to court to get a lease signed for the amount of 420 acres but I know this lease could not be valid because Hunt Oil Company already had a lease on 320 of those acres. He assigned his lease to Chevron, attached.

So, on October 25, 1952 my great grandmother dies and on January 28, 1954 my great grandfather dies. Succession was filed in February 1954, attached.

In 1955 my ancestors tried to get the land divided amongst themselves but did not succeed, document attached for the division of the land but in order to divide this land you would need a survey and the plat is attached with the survey never being completed. So, division of the land is null and void.

My great Uncle Huey Blankenship died May 20, 1974 and I believe that is when the biggest of the problems began. Succession was filed by my grandfather for my Great Uncle Huey because he did not have any children or spouse.

Then, My grandfather Herbert Blankenship died, September 12, 1988, boy I remember when I was in school at Louisiana tech and my grandfather having my father & uncle come get me to tell me about the land and my inheritance. My grandfather at that time was in Lincoln General Memorial Hospital where he explained to me what to do when my father dies. There is so much to this story until you wouldn’t believe but nevertheless my grandfather passes away and my father along with his brothers file his succession.

When my father files his succession the attorney put on the paperwork 4 undivided acres of interest when it should have been 420 acres on my father side and 160 on my grandmother’s father side. Incorrect title opinion attached. I also amended my grandfather Herbert's succession and got the legal description corrected back to 420 undivided acres.

All I’m trying to do is collect my interest and it seems as if people that have been stealing so long just don’t want to let go and my grandfather told me no matter what do not listen to them or my relatives in Louisiana I’m suppose to be paid on 420 undivided acres for his side.

Now I did the title search and I know the deed for an 100 acres is where my great grandfather did a swap for work for land but on their they reserved their mineral rights, document attached. Now you you tell me what/suggest what is my next step.

Like I said I’ve talked with the operator and he’s the operator for both sections 21 & 27, he seems to be without reason because he tries to tell me according to the incorrect title opinion he has it is for both my grandparents and I’m like that is impossible because my grandfather was living and my great grandfather C.N. Walton was living who is my grandmother father. Title opinion attached. My grandmother Myrtle Walton Peoples Blankenship died in 1972. The children on the title opinion are my grandmother Myrtle Walton Peoples Blankenship, as follows Lucille Peoples, Victory Blankenship, Myrtice Peoples, Willie D. Peoples, Obrie Blankenship, & Nobie Blankenship. The title opinion is done on Section 21, Bienville parish, (this land came from my great, great, grandmother Ellen Walton, patent attached.) All of my grandmother's children are deceased but my Aunt Myrtice, she lives in a nursing home in California.

All I’m asking is where do I go from here, any suggestions?

Go to an O&G attorney.

Good luck,

Pat

Do you have any suggestions for a good one in Louisiana?

Mary, did you get a copy of the most recent, active, O&G lease? If not, go onto TexasFile.com and get it. See what it says.

Go onto the Forum's County Group, where your inheritance is locate, and also the Landmen group, and condense your question down to two or three short lines and do not attach all this same stuff. But, 1.) mention that you have done the title search and have all the historical data needed to prove your place as a beneficiary, and 2.) can anyone "properly" advise you on what you should do next to "stake" claim to your inheritance?

Good luck,

Pat
