Urban Oil & Gas Group, LLC purchased the Apache Bromide SU Tract 10 well from Bass Petroleum in 2017 (both are Texas-based companies), located in Caddo County. We have received monthly checks on this well for over 15 years, up until Bass sold to Urban. Urban has not made any payments on the well since they took it over. According to Bass, they provided their pay decks to Urban, so they should have our royalty interest percentage. I reached out to Urban and was told that they were working on trying to determine why we have not received payment. That was in early January. Now they will not respond to emails. When I try to call, the recording says I must leave a voice message, which I do - but no response. I am assuming that the well is still producing, since I was told they were looking into why we were not being paid (as opposed to being told that the well was shut in, or being re-worked). I looked on the OCC website, but neither Bass or Urban has reported any production to the OCC (probably because they are a TX company). What can I do to get Urban to pay us our back royalties, and begin to pay us going forward? Is hiring an attorney our only option? Or should I reach out to the OCC and file a complaint (is that an option?)? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.
What section, township and range are you in?
Caddo 2-5N-12W. All help is appreciated.
Caddo 2-5N-12W Apache Bromide SU Tract 10 This is one of those tricky ones due to it being in a waterflood unit. When was the last date that you got paid? What is the full name of the well? There were several Tract 10 wells, so the last part of the well name would be 10-x. 3? I have more information, but want to go in the right direction.
Thank you for taking the time. We received our last payment from Bass on a check dated 10/26/17 - for 8/17 production. Unfortunately, Bass just has the well name as Apache Bromide Tract 10. Merit Energy had the well name as Apache Bromide SU Tract 10, as did Anadarko Petroleum (back to 2003, the first records that I have). The operator of the well when Anadarko was purchasing the production was Magnum Hunter Production, Inc. (well # 06721), if that helps any. Thanks again.
M_Barnes - I looked back through some old files and found some early-1990s documents from Amerada Hess referencing the “00086-0010:Apache Bromide Sand Unit B-6”. I suspect that is the same well that I am looking to receive payment. Maybe that will provide further help for you. Thanks again.
