Net Mineral Acre

Dear Mineral Rights Forum,

I was wondering if I could easily find out how many net mineral acres that I own based on the following information:

AN UNDIVIDED 10/192 MINERAL INTEREST IN AND TO SECTIONS 32, 41 AND 44, BLOCK 42, T1S, T&P RY. CO. SURVEY, ECTOR COUNTY TEXAS.

If someone would be willing to guide me further, I would sincerely appreciate it; as I am new to understanding oil and gas terminology.

Thank you in advance for any support here.

Sincerly,

Chris

Chris-

Go to the GLO map here - http://gisweb.glo.texas.gov/glomap/index.html

Scroll in on Ector County and see if you can find the Block and Sections. Write down the Abstract (A-__) on the map. Use the Search feature at top and search for each abstract. Click on the red square in the Search box that pops up and it will highlight that abstract. There is a link that shows how many patented acres are in that abstract. If your section has more than one abstract, you have to search each one and add them up.

Once you figure out the total acres in that section, multiply it by 10/192 and that is how many net mineral acres you have in that section.

Hi, Chris -

Please see the attached.

I used Mr. Caldwell's link to the Texas Railroad Commission's website and pulled up maps your area. Then I went to the Texas General Land Office's website and pulled up the basic information on your three Sections.

Section 32 is 657.0 acres, Section 41 is 640.0 acres and Section 44 is 659.0 acres for a total of 1,956.0 acres.

If I remember 3rd Grade Math correctly, 10/192nds of 1,956.0 acres is 101.875 Net Mineral Acres.

Hope this helps -
