We own some mineral rights in Section 3, 4N, Range 6W and have been receiving small royalties each month through Vitruvian Exploration. There is some interesting information on this forum regarding wells soon to be drilled in Section 3, but I need some direction in finding out exactly how many net mineral acres we own. Is this information on the production detail and I'm just missing it each month? Is there anyone who can assist me in this endeavor? Cassie D
Cassandra, do you have access to your original lease and any documents? (1) There should be something that tells you how many acres you leased. (2) Call Vitruvian and ask how many acres you are being paid on. (3) Your statement will show your net royalty expressed in a decimal, something like .009999. If you know the size of the unit, probably 640 acres if it's a horizontal well, you can work back mathematically to determine your acreage. If you don't feel confident doing the math there are several of us on the forum who would be glad to help you.
Thank you, Michael! I'll be doing some more 'homework' on this, and probably will call Vitruvian on Tuesday as the original lease was water damaged several years ago. I may also take advantage of your offer to assist with calculations. I did look at the detail sheet from royalties, but found only statistics related to production, which was from the Chitwood Boatwright Sand Unit. Is this in section 3? I responded to this earlier, but don't see the response when I log back on. If all the responses appear, I apologize for the overload. I may not know how to upload this information appropriately. Thank you again. Wait a second......I think I discovered how to post the response! :)
