I lost my Dad earlier this year and he has a few acres in different areas of Reeves County. I have an offer on the smallest of the acres in Section 7 Block C-20 Public School Land. I have talked to the appraisal district, the tax office, and the county clerk. I still have not been able to locate the documents I need. I was told to look up GEO 01320 (tax office records) but I have yet to find his name nor the trust name. I was told the last lease was 2006-2009, this info came from the company wanting to lease it. This property has been in our family more than 80 years (give or take) and I have a letter from June 8, 1966 telling about each section (i.e. section 4, 34, 44, 22, 7, 46, & 66). I can pull up his name/trust name on block 50-8 tract 4, block 57-3 tract 44, & block 57-3 tract 46 but the section 7 block c-20 will not show up. Thanking you in advance for any help.

Clint, thank you so very much for the map and the information! I will continue to search for the recorded deed/prior lease information. I greatly appreciate your words of condolences.
Clint, R.D. Davis & Associates are the ones wanting the lease. I am not familiar with them, like I am with others. The offer is $3,000 an acre (which seems too low) and 1/4 royalty. It is a 3 yr term with a 2 yr option.
They are wanting a copy of the deed conveying the interest into the Trust or a copy of the wills for my dad and my mom (and I am surprised they didn't ask for my sister's will, she didn't have one either). We didn't work with wills we only worked off the Trust. I am the only living heir. That is why I am trying so hard to figure out why the county doesn't have the deed on record and why they can not find it. So thanks a million for your help. Queena Pollan Harvey
Queena,
Could there be any attorney's that were involved in this handling of this deed for the Trust that could be contacted? Attorney could have a copy of deed filed away??? Good luck on your search.

I will talk to the attorney in the morning but I gave him all I had info on. I wonder why the parcel of land doesn't show up in Reeves County records. When I know Dad received the land at age 21 in 1951, it was left to him by his uncle. I know the last lease was 2006-2009 and you would think the tax office would have to have record of it. You have helped me more than any call I have made and I greatly appreciate it. I will get it solved and thank you.
Queena,
What is your father's name and the name of the Trust. I can take a look at our records for you.
queena,
I just saw your post. I also have a small interest in blk. c20, tract 7, a3731. That is under currant lease to Anadarko petreoeum corp. for 5 years dated jan., 2011. We also own acreage in 57-3 44 and 57-3 46 that has just been extended for 2 years on a 5 year lease with BHP. I hope this information can be of help. If we can help in any other way, please let us know.

My recommendation would be to NOT grant a two year option.
Thank you for all the info. My dad's name: Ronald C Pollan and trust is The Pollan Family Trust.
