I own the NE 140 of Section 91, Block 1 in Loving County and have a PSA with Matador. They have filed permits for new wells but I think they have all expired. And now, for the first time, I am getting offers to purchase my interest. Usually, I can see if there are new permits either in or near my property, but this time I don’t see any new ones. Does anyone know of something going on around this area? Thanks! Joy

Joy Devon Energy ( former WPX) has leases right next door to you. You could give them a call and ask what they can offer. It is a very competitive area.

Do you know why it is so competitive now?
I think that in May, Matador filed 6 permits for Barnett Trust 90 wells which have horizontal wellbores in Section 89 and Section 90, Block 1. So maybe speculation that there will be permits filed in your adjacent Section 91.

You are so right–they have filed several for Barnett–mine are Howard Posner. But it just seems there are lots of permits and no follow through. I think all permits on my property they have let expire. Maybe they are starting more activity!
