New to this forum

Hello! I am new to this forum and have land in Garvin County Section 28-2N-3W. We have been getting a lot of mail with court like documents but have no clue what it all means. I believe it all has to do with permits to drill, etc. This was my mother's land and when she passed it was divided between my dad and us 3 children. Was just wondering if anyone could tell me what activity if any is occurring on this land and what kind of royalties we can expect? I figure it's probably getting active or close to it as we have gotten many offers to buy our rights (from $5000 to $8500 per net acre), which we all definitely will not be selling. Any information or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

You are right in the thick of things girl!!! That's some good minerals you have and I'm sure you'll be getting royalties soon.

Hi Cathlene. Welcome to the forum! Newfield Exploration is preparing to drill a well (as I am sure you are aware if you've been getting the same documents I have from Crutchmer & Barnes) that will have a surface hole location (SHL) in sec 21 2N3W running south through sec 28 and into sec 33. The most recent application I received just last week shows secs 28 & 33 will share the payout 50/50 which I was glad to see. I have minerals in 33 but not 28 and the original docs had it split with 33 only getting 1/3 of the payout. You should be seeing a royalty check in a year or so as it's quite a lengthy process and as far as I know they've not spudded in yet, but maybe it won't be much longer. What was your mom's name? I didn't see your name on the list of owners in 28 but I just skimmed over it. I'm sure you're on there if you're getting correspondence from C&B. Anyway, there are some really good wells being drilled in the area. Do you have minerals in any other sec? Patience is a virtue in the royalty owner business but good things will come from this I promise you. Hang in there.

Thanks Linda and Vicki. I am clueless when it comes to this stuff. My mother's name was Della (Ramsey) Williams. They have my name listed as Kathy Wester (I have been trying to get them to correct the spelling of my name lol). This forum is wonderful to gain some insight and information. I am not the most savvy person when it comes to legal document and such LOL so any information is wonderful. Thank you for taking the time to reply! Looking forward to seeing what we will be getting....this is exciting!! And Linda we don't have any other minerals in any other sections unfortunately.

New to this forum! Does anyone know if Sec 25-3N-4W fall into a good producer for Newfield? Thanks, Guy

Guy,

I don't understand your question. Are you asking it the Newfield's Whitt 1H-25 well is a good producer? It has produced about 70K barrels of oil and about 500,000mf of gas. The production decline looks about typical, maybe a bit quicker.

8475 barrels in June 2012 and 1548 in Dec 2013.

In your opinion will this well dry up or will they explore new options for it! Like I say I am new to this so would you explain how these folks like Newfield would handle this? Thanks ! I am a novice at this!!

They all dry up. Production will continue to decline but it should be capable of producing 15-25 years. If oil drops to $5 a barrel it may not be economical to produce and they may plug and abandon it. I'd guess the more likely scenario will be another well (or wells) in the future.

My family has 8 acres and have had for years and years! My mom didn’t get rid of it but never thought it would produce! It has been a blessing for us the last couple of years! Have had offers on it but do not intend to let go! Thanks for the help! Guy

If the offers pick up again, that will be a good sign there is intent to drill some more wells.

Thanks again!

Rick! I have 2.188875 acres of 3/16 royalty from Newfield in Section 25 Township 3N Range 4W Can you tell me when my lease is up and do they renew when it is up

Guy,

The lease I see says you have 1/5 royalty, assuming you are a "Jr". It is dated 20 Sept 2011. The primary term was for 3 years, but because it it producing it goes into the secondary term. The secondary terms is "as long as it is producing." They can drill more wells from here on out, but your lease is still binding as long as they are producing from any of the well they choose to drill.

Thanks Rick! That’s most helpful!!

You really can't other than looking on another map and matching the roads. There are some overlays for google earth.

But you can look here.

http://www.okladot.state.ok.us/hqdiv/p-r-div/maps/2003county/garvin.pdf

Stephens County fits into the notch in the SW of Garvin. Your section is above the far NE corner of Stephens co. See the "36"? Section 25 is just above it. SE of Purdy.

Another way is to go here. http://gis.deq.ok.gov/flexviewer/

Turn on the county layer and the section township range layer.

I haven't heard anything in a while on what is going on but have started to get offers to sell again so I am assuming that things are moving right along? Does anyone have any new information?? Definitely not even considering selling :) Thanks in advance!!

Hello, Cousin Cathlene! The well was spud on 7/7/14! My contact at Newfield said as of yesterday that they were still drilling. He also stated that we should see $$$ in 6 mos or a little more. Sure do thank Great Grandma and Grandpa for this opportunity.....
