New to this

Hello everyone. I own mineral rights in S:6, T:10N, R:8W. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where this is exactly and the worth of these rights and any planned production. I have been approached by several companys interested in buying my rights. I tried looking the location up on-line with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Craig

Craig, section 6 in 10N/08W is in the very N.W. corner of Grady County, N.W. of Chickasha and S.W. of Oklahoma city. The most recent pooling I found was in 9-10N-08W the mineral owners were given the option of $1200 per acre bonus with a 3/16 royalty or 0 bonus with a 1/4 royalty. Based on that a good offer to purchase might be $3000-4000 per acre. Keep in mind no matter what the offer the buyer has figured in a healthy profit for when he turns it over. As some wells are completed the offers will get better. I would wait and see how the area develops and possibly lease your acreage and collect royalties on the production.

I am also new to this.

Your minerals are in the very Northwest Section of Grady County. Contact a Title Abstract Company for a map.

The value of the minerals is uncertain to me. The minerals do not appear to be in a valley where oil or natural gas would accumulate thousands of feet below. However there may be something there.

Craig, I have a few acres in 6-10-8 and have had a few offers. There is a pipe line that runs through sec's 7,18, and on south ward. There are wells in sec 7 and a horiz in sec's 4 and 9. I'm not sure about the production on these but some of the good guys and gals might offer some info.

Michael, most of the drilling now is horizontal into rock and shale deposits where the hydrocarbons are embedded and released by hydraulic fracturing. There is still some vertical drilling into underground reservoirs but most of the new plays are horizontal shale wells.
