No permit application noted on RRC?

Why do all the abstracts in Woodward square of LaSalle County look like a polkadot tablecloth on RRC map & no permit applied on abstract 434? As of Sept 2011, leases were signed 62% Chesapeake, 20% "other", & 18% unsigned; does having separate companies delay application for permit? Is there a usual per cent needed of signed leases before oil companies will file for a permit? Landman a few months ago said CHK & "others" would work out a deal on who would drill. Another elementary question, if all these surrounding wells produce, will that decrease our abtract production?

Appreciate all comments, as all of this is very new to SC girl having only completed a remedial online education in Oil & Gas Production in TX.

If you have permitted or existing wells all around you, and nothing on your acreage, it probably means the delay is due to the leasing issues. They do not have to have 100% of the mineral owners signed up to begin drilling. There are well spacing regulations that should keep your land from being drained by surrounding production, but it is not guaranteed that there could be some impact. The percentage that needs to be signed up is a complex question, but assume that if 82% have signed leases, they can drill.

Thx Wade
