Inherited small interest in mineral rights in 2 certain acres and haven’t had an oil and gas lease since November 2005 and have never seen any royalties. Our family records date back to February 1980. How should I ascertain any information on this small acreage in Garvin County? Thank you.
@Carlton, you can search for wells by Section at http://wellbrowse.occ.ok.gov/
The only well in that Section was last plugged in 2007 and was reported as a “dry hole.” It looks like the information you have is up to date as not much has been going on in that Section.
I so very much appreciate your help. Have a great weekend.
And how do I find a well number or where this property is actually located or illegal description as on a deed I am at a complete loss.
@Carlton, a map with the PLSS grid will help you find the location. (About 2 miles NE of Elmore City) Here are a couple of links: https://oklahoma.gov/occ/divisions/oil-gas/database-search-imaged-documents/occ-well-data-finder.html
The wellbrowse or wellfinder links will also have the oil well information.
You are so kind and helpful. I appreciate you!
Dry hole, huh? Sounds about right. How can I inherit and become rich with a dry hole?
