I and my six siblings have not received a gas royalty check since early June for May production from Equal Energy. We received a letter stating they would have to hold our checks for a month to make the transition from our former company, which was Kinder Morgan. Our next check would come in August. Well, no check so then we were referred to a person from Petroflow Energy and he sent us a letter stating that they were taking our checks to pay back a rebate they received and paid us from the State of Oklahoma. The state wanted the rabate back saying they were not entitled to it. Now, they are telling us that not only are we having to pay back the rebate we received, we also have to pay back the money they paid to our mother is has been deceased since 2012. They will not even speculate when we will get a check at this point. We have checked with other royalty owners within the family and others that are not having their checks taken. Has anyone else had this happen to them? We need help.
Judith, Below is a link for the NARO (National Association of Royalty Owners) form letter for requesting royalty payment information. Make yourself a copy, mail it via certified mail with a return receipt. Call the Oklahoma Corporation Commission 405-521-2613 (ask for Jr or Donna) and call the Oklahoma Tax Commission and tell them what has happened and ask them to verify what Petroflow is telling you. If you find that you need an attorney, friend me and I will forward you some names recommended on this forum.
I had Equal Energy take over a Scissortail Energy well in Lincoln County. They sent me two checks at the same time, both dated August 11th, and they were for May and June. I haven't heard anything about a rebate. My interest is in Section 23, 15N 4E.
