oil companies sending mail to an old address

Hello. I had everything deeded to me back in like 2019, and those deeds contain an address that I no longer live at. I since filed a change of address in public records. Whenever I get any kind of legal document, I see my name and address listed twice. I also know that the old address still receives offers to buy my stuff.

Is there any definitive way to get people to stop sending things to the old address? It’s really annoying for the person that lives there now, and I don’t really want them getting things with my information, anyway.

Notify the US Postmaster if your new address. Other than that, no.

As Todd said, notify the USPS as well as every county where you have minerals. If you are getting mailings from the same group(s) notify them.

Have you contacted the county where the deeds are recorded? I would definitely make sure they delete the old address.

They can’t do what you just suggested.
