Oklahoma Oil and Gas Lease Offers - July 2012

Below are lease offers received by mineral owners in Oklahoma during the month of July, 2012. Source: The mineral owners themselves.

Hopefully you will find this information helpful in negotiating your own leases. Remember too that most if not all lease terms are usually negotiable, and first offers are not always the best offers.

Lease offer for $175/acre, 3 years, and 3/16 royalty received in 8-8N-7E of Seminole County, OK.

Lease offer for $200/acre, 3 years, at 3/16 royalty received in 22-17N-4E of Lincoln County, OK.

Lease offer for $125/acre, 3 years, at 3/16 royalty received in 22-12N-8E of Ofuskee County, OK.

Lease offer for $200/acre, 3 years, 3/16 royalty received in 10-18N-1W of Payne County, OK.

Lease offer for $400/acre, 3 years, 3/16 royalty received in 17-23N-11W of Alfalfa County, OK.

Lease offer for $275/acre, 3 years, at 3/16 royalty received in 7-23N-5E of Pawnee County, OK.

Lease offer for $125/acre, 3 years, at 3/16 royalty received in 22-12N-8E of Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.

Hope this helps some of my Oklahoma peeps out. Keep in mind these offers did not necessarily result in a lease being signed. These were, for the most part, the FIRST offers received by the owners. In many cases the bonus and other lease terms are negotiated somewhat before a lease is actually signed.

seems like lease bonuses are down from a couple of years ago. i got $750 in west Ellis county 2 1/2 years ago.

Thanks Mick,

This kind of info is always helpful and hard to find. Appreciate it. Rick Tatum

Franklin, I agree that lease bonus amounts are probably down as you noted, though keep in mind that the lease bonus amounts I post were probably not the ONLY offers received, but rather represent a "sampling" of offers received so it's possible others received better (or worse) offers in any given area.

Our first offer was 600 per acre, 3 yrs, 3/16, so we leased it, didn’t have a clue about the going rate, negotiating or possibly getting other offers. In Grady county
