My sisters and I have Over Riding Royalty in Mckenzie County, which my father left to us when he passed away. The issue, is we are having a problem trying to find the title to the ORR in McKenzie County. The ORR is producing a small amount each year. Any ideas or direction? The ORR Township 153 N., Range 101 West, Sections 27 & 34.

It will be pretty challenging to figure out the title to ORR without sending someone to Watford City to chain out the interest. Do you know the underlying leases that the ORR is held by? That would be a good start.

My first stop would be a Division Order Analyst of the Payor company.
Make good friends with them and ask if they had any information. If they did the title, they likely have information.
If it was a purchase, they might just be distributing off of the old pay decks.
