At the start of 2022, our mineral royalty percentage (owner’s interest) was at one level (+/- .009) and consistent from statement to statement. Then, in mid 2022, the percentage changed significantly to a much lower level (+/- .0008). It appears that the interest may have been pooled with other interests as the production levels went up significantly, but overall the payment was less to some degree. Is this common? Can anyone offer any theories why there would be a change (we have done nothing on our end to change the right / interest we own)?
