Ownership of Mineral Rights in AR

My Grandfather lived on land my uncle bought and paid for. Years later my uncle put his father in a nursing home and he later died. My uncle sold the land and gave the money to my mother who was a widow. My uncle kept the mineral rights and deeded them to Mom and told her to record the deed at the court house. To my knowledge she did. To help her my brother I paid the taxes for many years. She never deeded the mineral rights to us, but we are next of kin. To help her, my brother and I paid the taxes for 20 years or so. What we need to do to get the mineral rights in our name? Jack Tucker [email protected] 865-357-1398

No need to worry; only you want full documents and the agreement of owner like your mother. And after that you can easily claim for change of ownership in court.

I have looked at the records and since Mom did not deed the mineral Rights to us, what do I need to do? I have the book # and page # where she must have recorded a deed on Feb 9,1971. My brother and I have been paying the taxes for over 20 years. Mom died in 1998. My uncle died also. My brother and I are Mom's only remaining heirs.

since you are the heirs it seems to me that the minerals would have passed to you. that you have been paying taxes on them to the county should back this up.
