Payne County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

OCC reports the issue of a Permit to Drill a well, in Section 14-18N-3E for the Key 14-1, to Key Energy Oil Properties, LLC.

Don,

Section 25 well did not complete. Calyx will redrill at the end of October.

Barry, I had heard that when I was in the Payne Co. County Clerk’s office this past week. It’s disappointing news but I remain optimistic.

Their combining sec 25 with 36 this time.

Anyone heard anything about Devon’s intent to drill in Sec31, T19N. R 1W in Payne County? Same with an adjacent parcel in Logan County Sec 36, T19N, R2W? I understand that Devon has had great success so far along with other companies. Following the drilling action on the Oklahoma Oil and Gas Registry. I presently live in Nampa, Idaho. the two parcels mentioned are part of the old family homestead. Closest welll so far is right on the west edge of Mulhall and to the southeast just a couple of miles in T18N.

is there a map of the sections in payne county if so were do i find it

Anything going on sec 3 T19 R1W payne county

Contact the Payne County Accessors’s office. they will send you a free section map of the county or you can go on the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s website and they have section downloadable maps available.

This whole area of Logan and Payne County’s is loaded with potential for blanket drilling by all of the companies presently drilling in this area. These two counties land offices are very busy.

Sec 33 18N-04E, Calyx drilled and reported on 9-10-2012 , 335 barrels a day and 406,000 cf of gas per day.

Does anyone know if anything is happening with Calyx 33 18N-4E

does anyone know what 22-19n-6e is producing?

Section 34 18N-04E is producing 1342 bbp on two wells.

Could someone help me translate these legal descriptions, and tell me how many acres they contain:

E/2 SW/4

SE/4 SW/4

N/2 S/2 NE/4

These are just examples. Need to learn to read these. Also, can someone tell me the difference between gross acres and net acres? Thank you.

You can lookup the legal descrip online. Best is a section township and range map of the county. Basically all the land is divided into sections of 640 acres. Then the section is broken down into quadrants named for their direction in a map. Those quadrants are broken down into quadrants again by direction. So in a section you may own the SE quadrant of the NE quadrant of sec 3. Which means you own 40 acres - or 1/4 of 1/4 of 640 acres. Hope that helps as an example. Get yourself a good map of the county by section and it will become more apparent.

Barry I have a question and I hope you will be kind enough to give me your opinion. My section is 14-20n-4e in Payne county.

My situation is this, there is interest in my minerals, which is a good thing, but spouting a well close to my house is not. So before signing a mineral lease with surface damages I am attempting to collect info and develop a strategy to do what little negotiating that is possible.

My question concerns the existing abandon wells on my property. One was abandon in the late 80’s without shutting it in. Could a viable lease still be in effect and is so, how would I find the owner of that lease/well? I have received no royalty since I moved in in 1992.

If there is a viable lease still in effect could it be purchased or claimed if the company is no longer in business? The better question is, would if have any bearing on my negotiations?

Any thought?

Thanks in advance,

Thomas Barclay

Thanks Barry, most of us know very little and we appreciate your help. I will contact Becsul and Crow Creek today.

Just so the group knows, there is current drilling on 21-20n-4e in the SW/4. The completed well with what seems to be 8-12 tanks is at W/2, NW/4, 30-20n-4e. Another well is being drilled 36-20n-3e (Maybe a mile south) in the NE/4. A 12 inch pipeline is being constructed from SH108 east along VFW RD toward SH18 (Cushing?) from the well at 30-20n-4e (19?)

The well Barry referred to as section 19 probably corresponds to a drilling site at 30-20n-4e. But then again, I can barely make my way around a plate map.

Greetings

My interests are in NE Payne county and specifically between SH108 and SH18, from SH51 north to Pawnee county. The section is 14-20n-4e. Any info about activity and operators in this area would be appreciated.

This is what I think I know. There are at least three horizontal wells in process or completed within 5 miles. Red Fork Energy is trying to buy majority interest in this section at the present time (640 spacing). They have made a proposal and I am looking for other offers to compare to theirs. My guess is they don’t have a majority yet due to fractionalization of mineral interests.

If you are are, or know of, a landman interested in 14-20n-4e in Payne county please contact me.

BTW If I can be of help to others in this area please let me know.

Tom,

The only activity I see in that township is in sections 5 & 19. 5 produced only 3 bpd, but it was only 4200 ft well. 19 was listed as starting Jul 29th. Probably is completed by now just not list that way. The companies drilling in that township are Becsul Energy Inc. and Crow Creek Operating Co.

As far as a lease goes, most leases are only for 3 -5 years. So I doubt if there is a lease now. You can check with the County Clerks office and see who owns the mineral rights in that section. OKCC would probably have information as well.

we are 0n the border of noble county and payne county, ours is in noble co sect 34 t20 north, range 1w, what would the sect township and range be across the border in payne county
