G. Winn, From NARO http://www.naro-us.org/page-697394/1210936? “The pooling order contains royalty and bonus options, and the option to participate in the well, for you to choose from. If you have not signed a lease, the pooling order instructs you to send a written election to the address provided and tell the pooling applicant which option you want. The order further states that you have a twenty day election period which starts counting the day the order is signed by the Corporation Commissioners. This is twenty calendar days. If you fail to make a written election in a timely manner under the order, the order states which option will be made for you.” “Then, unless something else happens, the mineral owner is “statutorily leased” under the terms of the order issued by the OCC.”
If the landman’s lease offer was better than the pooling offers you might want to talk to your attorney to see if he/she recommends making an election under the pooling or attempting to renegotiate lease terms with the oil company. Renegotiating might get you terms that are more favorable than the options in the pooling order. Rick is right: “you had better understand 100% what that lease does that comes during a pooling order period.”

Thank you Ron, do you know where in Sec27 18N-1E that American has started paperwork in. Also, do you know anything about the Devon well named Hopkins 1-7MH in Sec. 7 18N-1E and do you think they will drill any more wells in that Sec.

G Win, American Energy LP (AEP) is Aubrey McClendon’s new company. He was the co-founder who was forced to leave Chesapeake, but he helped pioneer horizontal drilling and knows OK oil and gas better than most.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) June 2014 reporting that the US is the biggest producer of oil and natural gas liquids (liquids separated from natural gas surpassing all other countries this year (2014) with daily output exceeding 11 million barrels in the first quarter.

It is 31 18N 3E payne county. 1/4 royalty no bonus. They sent the lease. but I wanted to add an exhibit and sent it to them. I have not signed the lease. I am waiting for the new lease offer after they look over the exhibit.I have 8.5381 acres of 136 gross. Should I see what American energy is offering??
G Win, I would definitely see what American Energy is offering. AEP is a new multi billion dollar company that has some catching up to do and needs leases. They may be willing to offer a good cash bonus and 1/4 royalty interest for a 3 year lease with no options to renew the lease.
