Ok this is wild-- if you look at the permit it is going across our land-- it says Olaf Olson on it, but number 3 is our 121 acres -not Olaf Olson.
Thoughts on how I should respond?
Best,

Apache has 2 wells on this land.
Olaf Olson owned the land before we did.
This is just so confusing.

If I were you I would be in contact with Anadarko immediately to resolve this issue. You may also have to make a trip to the County Clerks office with your deed in hand. Good luck with your wells.

Well-- I found out they are in different "fields" and found a great search engine /view on the RR Commission website. There are 3 fields all within a mile of each other.
I did let Apache know and I still think there is something wrong with the mineral deed as it was executed in 1979, but the Railroad commission has Apache starting work in 2008.
The RR Commission folks who grant the permits were very helpful.
It gets more strange as I look into this. Apparently this past summer Apache assigned its interest its in the oil and gas lease from 1976 to Anadarko.
The permit mentioned here definitely runs under our land and we own 12.5 percent of the mineral interests (Apache has been paying us).
The pooling agreement has Olaf/Gladys Olson as a party to the agreement, but they do not own our portion of the land or the entire mineral interest.
I'm headed to the County courthouse today to look up deeds.

Also-- how can I show that Amoco stopped drilling and the lease ended before Apache started?
