Our family has mineral rights for land that my father in law leased in the mid 1970's. Thanks to the new horizontal well technology, we have benefited greatly these past 5 years. Last week, we attended a meeting hosted by Anadarko in Ft. Lupton and learned that wells are going in across the street (county road 37) from us.
Currently, we are pooled in to our neighbors who are each north and south of us, and one to the east. The new wells will be to the west. Anadarko has not been in touch with us regarding pooling of these new wells.
Are there rules in place about who is pooled in? Proximity-wise, our land will run parallel to a well line that will be about 50 feet west of it. Should we be pooled in?
Appreciate your thoughts.
