My condolences.
There are several threads along that line on the forum. We had the same situation. You will have to probate the will in Texas with a Texas attorney and then file a foreign probate in Oklahoma using an Oklahoma attorney. You will then need to file the foreign probate in every county in OK where the mineral rights are located. If your dad had royalties, then you need to contact all of the operators to change his name to the heirs. They will require a copy of the probate or title documents.
Thanks so much! Beth
Beth: Sorry for your loss. If you father died outside of Oklahoma you should qualify for a summary probate. This can usually be done without traveling to Oklahoma. Typically 60-75 days to finish up from the date the case is filed.
