I am seeking some information about oil production around Sec 16 - 18N - 9W. My Grandfather had a lease on this property since April 8, 1976, and I had always received a check for this until last year. April, 2015, was the last payment I received. When I questioned 101 Energy they said the lease had just been released as of January 7, 2016, and no one held a lease on it. It was the NE/4 of the above legal description. Maybe it had run dry but I don't know. This must not be a hot spot. We would be willing to lease if there is anything going on in this part of the county. Thanks for any information.
You are right that the Weber 1 well was plugged. There is activity in 18N-9W in general by Newfield, Payrock, and others. This is on the north boundary of most of the current Stack drilling. 17N-9W to your south has been heavily drilled by Newfield in the Meramec. There have been some recent filings by Newfield near you in 18-18N-9W. So I think with a little patience and luck, things may move your way.
There is quite a bit of leasing activity in 16-18N-9W. The active folks over the last year were Payrock Energy, Yellow House LLC, Baseline Minerals LLC, Plainview Oil Company LLC, and a few scattered others.
Marathon had some case dockets planned for the area, but let a few get dismissed. They do have a spacing approved for a Mississippian, Woodford, and Hunton well, so time will tell. I think you may see some interest coming. If you need contact info for the companies above, let me know.
Thanks! I appreciate the information.
