Proof of ownership, or deeds

ok so i have mineral rights in a texas county and the county clerk or county tax office cant find me . what the hell.

Is your proof of ownership such as deed, probate, affidavit of heirship, etc. filed with the recorder of deeds in the county courthouse? If you have a copy, but they do not, then it is not official until filed. Also check the spelling of names. Errors can happen.

Also check the location, I have had them record a Block 27, when it was Block 37. Took some time to find that one. LOL!! MK

Unless the minerals are under production, then the tax office will have no record of your ownership. If you have a copy of the deed and it has been recorded, then the Clerk would have stamped the Book/Page or Document Number on the Deed as well as other recording information. The Clerk’s job is record the documents, maintain the records and provide public access to the records. It is a courtesy if the Clerk looks up a document when they are not provided the document recording information (Book/Page or Doc Number).
