Property Ownership Question

You remember how I’m trying to get these properties that nobody seems to know who they belong to. Again today I called the tax office; it seems they still can’t find anything on the records. They checked at the courthouse again to see if they missed anything and found nothing. So I called the lawyer that was involved doing my deed when we bought our property and house and I asked him if he knew the name of the surveyor that did our property and he said yes, so gave the name but he said he passed away a couple of years back.

Well, my question is this: since that surveyor has passed away, who might have an answer for us about the part of land that we are interested in? Where now can I get some answers? I wonder if it’s in the courthouse in the district clerk’s office. I just don’t know who to turn to.

TEXAS LADY, IN NEED OF HELP

T L,

Could it be possible that the surveyor kept some records in his home file cabinet? His wife might know the whereabouts of some of his papers. Or if she is deceased, his children might still have some of his personal records. Just a thought.

What about getting a new survey?

Yes thank you for your reply. I’ve gotten a new surveyor but won’t get it done until next month hopefully.

They have been really busy down here with all this oil boom. Texas lady.
