I have a small percentage of quite a few wells in my name. I have had two companies call to ask to purchase my shares. How do I educate myself as to whether their offers are fair? Does anyone know any attorney in the Weatherford, Texas area who can assess the offers?

In my experience, first offers are generally low and they hope to make money off of what you do not know. You are wise to get professional help. You do not need an attorney particularly in Weatherford. A licensed landman or appraiser or Texas Oil and gas attorney would be able to help. Several are listed in the Directories tab above.
