Received lease offer for Section 26-17S-37E

Does anyone know where that is and what activity is going on there? I received an offer from Turner Oil & Gas in Oklahoma City. Anyone know anything about them?

Dear Carl.

Lea County is the south east corner of New Mexico. I have received some unique lease requests in Roosevelt County to the North of Lea. Lea County is where most of the Oil comes from, but you will need an attorney there. The offer I received on 80 acres. was $50 an acre and 16% Royalty. When I asked the land man, he said New Mexico was a different animal than Texas. I asked do you get less for Oil than they do in Texas. He said no. So I said I would like 25% of the Hole and he said that could not be. Turned out my GF had 3 other partners in 1927,so the land man is busy looking for them now. Remember the big print giveth and the small print taketh away.

Depending on your chunk of land, using an attorney for what could be a pay out for life of you and your heirs, you would not want to mess it up, by giving away because you did not use an attorney.

Sincerely,

Chris

You can see the property and surrounding area here. It appears to be just north of Humble City on Hwy 18 between Lovington and Hobbs.

You can search for wells here. You can leave the section as all (no hits in section 26) and you can see the production in township 17S and range 37E. You most likely won't need an other information to search.

I don't know anything about Turner Oil and Gas. A lot of small operators buy up available leases.

JT

I know remember where the rights are. Thanks.

JT, when did you go to Tech?

I went from 92-96. I got my BSME in 96.

I also received an offer from Turner Oil & Gas in Oklahoma for

Section 22, Township 16S, Range 37E. I don't know anything about the Company either.

I got an offer from Turner for Section 11 T16s, R37E Le county, New Mexico. The letter stated no further negotiations. Offer was 200 pnma, 3 yr. lease with 2 year extension, 1/4 royalty. No negotiation was a deal killer for me so no deal.

I signed the lease agreement and returned two months ago, and I have not received payment yet. I have called several times to follow-up, but never get a response. I would be careful in dealing with these people.

I have leased with Turner Oil and Gas, and have received the second offer today for a different Section in Lea County.

I did receive the money offered in a short while from the first lease. However I requested a larger amount than they offered and they agreed.

Here is the link I USE for LEA COUNTY NEW MEXICO

I got that link from the Lea County Clerks office in Lovington, New Mexico.

Just keep using the left button on your mouse, clicking on the sections you want to enlarge. It will show all the area's you could want to look at IN LEA COUNTY

As far as 'location' goes, it's SOUTH of JAL, NM and EAST of highway 18 out of JAL.

Hope that helps.

You can look at yourself using the 'emap'

I have received my bonus check from Turner. A little slow, but nevertheless, I received it.

I was reading some of these old posts and noticed that your minerals are in the same EXACT location as mine. Section 11, Township 16s, Range 37 E. The only difference I see is I am SE/4 of section 11 and I don't see what your quarter is. We must be very close neighbors! : )
