I recently inherited mineral rights to approximatly 160 acres of farm land in Pondera County from my Grandmother. I have been doing a little bit of research online and I feel like I am learning something new everyday. However it is hard to know what is going on out in Montana all the way from coastal North Carolina.
I have located the area on the map from the ESER website, NE 1/4 Section 2 township 27 North Range 1. Looks like mostly farm land with a small creek. To my untrained eye it doesn't look like there is a well to me, but there is some activity in the surrounding region. I am trying to find out what options I might have. Anyone who is in touch with what is happening in Pondera County please let me know if you have any insite as to what is going on in the region.
I know a little bit about leasing, but I have no idea what good prices would be in the area. I also am trying to determine how many companies are currently investing in the region. Really looking for anything that could help me as I research this from across the country. Any suggestions are appreciated!
