Red Bluff drilled the Every 1405 1-30MH in Canadian County in 2020. I was not paid until December 2022. Since Citizen Energy made the payment, I requested Statutory Interest from them. Citizen only paid interest on sales from 4/2022 which according to them is the date they bought the well from Red Bluff. Citizen Energy has stated that they did not buy the company, Red Bluff Resources, they only bought properties from them and therefore I would need to request Statutory Interest from Red Bluff. Red Bluff is shown as Inactive by the Oklahoma Secretary of State. When I pull up the Every well on the OCC website, Citizen Energy is shown as operator but there isn’t a change of operator form filed. Does anyone have any information that I am missing or suggestions?
From Red Bluff’s website:
"Citizen Energy has purchased Red Bluff Resources and Bricktown Energy."
Citizen has become very difficult to deal with. Send them certified letters and if you think it is a bunch of money, stay after them.
First sales date for the Every 1405 1-30MH was 3/18/21. You are owed interest 180 days after that if they do not pay, so close to 9/18/21. Usually, a buyer also owes the debts of the company they buy. I would request by certified mail, return receipt, from Citizen interest from 3/18/21 to April 2022.
Apparently Red Bluff had separately settled a late payment case – https://www.mitchell-redbluff.com/. You may be able to determine from this website whether your well was part of this case. You might want to contact the administrator to see if final payments have been made or not and whether you might have some settlement money coming. They may not have your correct mailing address, for example.
