Hi there My family owns wells on block 1 section 12 and on a couple of neighboring sections. I see on the RR GIS that a few of the wells have been plugged- not just my family’s but other owners too. Any idea why? Is it because there is fracking or re drilling happening?

RRC GIS viewer includes all wells drilled over time and well status is updated as they are plugged. You can look up the history of a well based on its API number under Wellbore Query, with both current and historical marked. Permitted wells and canceled permits also appear. You can look at available scanned records. It can give you a lot of information about your minerals.
