Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Thanks, Ann! I haven’t learned the “new” map very well yet. I was just getting to know my way around the old one when they changed it! Clint has been helping me a lot, but there are only so many hours in the day! Thanks for that confirmation. Linton

Kathryn, you are in an area that doesn’t have a lot of wells yet, but the good news is that there is a producing well in your section. If your acreage is included in that well, you should be getting some royalties eventually. Atlantic appears to be the operator.

We are located 9 or so miles to the NW of you - Section 185.

Thank you Liz M for the quick response…that was very nice…Think I’m going to enjoy this Forum! Later!

Noble is BIG in off shore I know that my good friends brother works on a Noble rig. That said check your inbox kathryn as we have to be neighbors…!

Stephen, I’m I PSL C-7, Section 26. It’s SE of Pecos.

Soory… drop that “e” Ann !

Thnx again Ann I got the info… I see production in our sections… now how to deal with these lease guys…!

Would appreciate any feedback re. lease extension offers. I’m wondering if many of the companies are going to go this route to hold acreage positions together over the next year or two, given the need to hold back drilling etc.

It seems that as the months go by, these depressed prices will force operators to look at offering extensions. The oil is proved up and in place, just need to wait on better economics (obviously). I have one small tract (Sect. 300 Blk 13, 25 miles or so south of Pecos), leased to Clayton Williams. It expires in July of next year. I would prefer another operator take the section over. Maybe COG???

Anne, thnx 4 the map link. I see 3 wells or green dots in our sections in block 13. With the API # how do I find whom is drilling there? Thnx Again !!

JT, if I learned my last lesson from Clint Liles correctly, go to the small “i” in the center top of the map, click on that and choose “identify wells”, go back and click on each green spot and you should get a readout you can follow to the bottom for all that info. I know if I’ve gotten this wrong, which is entirely possible!, we will both hear about it! Linton

Hi, I am on Sec.15, Blk. 45 Reeves county.

Do I have any neighbors out there? I have an offer on ROW and unsure what to do? Please be advise. Thank you.

Phillips – you’re in the vicinity of a fairly active area (for these days and times) of Culberson and Reeves counties. Currently there is a scattering of drilling activity around you, as follows:

  • Two wells in Culberson ~6 miles N and slightly NNW

  • One well in Reeves ~9 miles E (slightly ESE)

  • Two wells ~9 miles S and one slightly SSW, one in Culberson and one in Reeves

Operators of these wells: BHP, Cimarex, COG, Endurance Resources and Three River Operating III.

Generally, the closer you are to Orla, the better (currently).

I’m not all that familiar with your area… the above I gleaned from weekly drilling reports and RRC public records. Later – Buzz

Phillips – I should have added “NW Culberson County” to this statement below: “Generally, the closer you are to Orla, the better (currently).”

That said, this Aug 2015 Cimarex investor conference presentation may be of interest:

Phillips – that be you, 10.7 miles SW of Orla, PSL BLK 45 SEC 15, near the Culberson County line? Later - Buzz

Does the RRC require a spud report? If so how long after spud is report due?

I’m looking for a landman in Reeves county to do a little research on 26 acres. I’m almost positive it’s been sold but would like to know for certain. I know there have been no taxes paid in recent years. Not clear if minerals were severed or not. I have the description and a page number and who deeded it over to my family. The book number is not clear on the letter I have. Any suggestions on a reputable landman in the Reeves Co. Area?

Donny – sympathetic to your concerns…

Biofuels mandate mess: New EPA ethanol standards under fire

The Iowa caucuses coming up in February won’t find any candidates proposing a reduction/solution… definitely not if it would raise crude oil prices and give Big Oil a windfall.

Buzz,

Yes, that would be it. What do you know about this area?
