Shanthi, I tried to friend you on your page to give you the information you wanted in a private manner. So as not to make you wait, the landman we dealt with was with ELS or Exploration Land Services and his name is Adam St. Romain. Here is his e-mail. [email protected] He does represent BHP or Petrohawk and is very reliable.
Yes they are out of Lafayette, LA
I’m a tree-hugger, but I never call the next day.
If some of the posters want to have a discussion of environmental issues, perhaps a separate thread is in order?
Fred , I called too in fact a couple of times today. They do not answer at both sites. May be they have changed the numbers…shanthi

I would appreciate the information about your land man-- still waiting for your reply. Thanks in advance.

I agree.
I have dealt with Mr. St.Romain for about a year [Petrohawk] and have found him to be very helpful and cooperative.
Thank you very much .I am really happy to have joined a group of people who go out of their way to help strangers.
Thank you Mr Matthews and Mr Haag. I have already written to him and he replied. Hope Petrohawk will be interested in our properties.

Steve – even though the link was ‘chopped-off’, it worked as a hot link if you clicked on it… thanks.
I believe you interpreted it correctly, 275 Bcf per sq mi or ~275 Bcf per section of Gas In Place (GIP).
The presentation was made in May 2006 and made these key points:
- Will take at least 50 wells before industry knows if it can deliver…
- Whether this shale can actually deliver gas at commercial rates remains to be seen
- However, much of the area is probably too deep to be commercial
Chesapeake’s ~43 producing gas wells in the Barnett/Woodford Shales) in the Toyah area were drilled in 2006, ‘07 & ’08. The producing depths are well below the Bone Spring and Wolfcamp horizons being exploited now. In July of 2008 natural gas prices peaked >$13; gas prices are below $3 currently. Shortly after prices peaked the recession set in and Chesapeake ceased drilling for gas.
Future generations may well benefit. Hope this helps. Later – Buzz
Buzz,
Here is the link. 275 BCf is from last map in file. Hope I interpreted it correctly.

My timing with Mr. St.Romain is probably not typical.
By the time I contacted him, Petrohawk had already gathered leases from just about all of the section that I have an undivided % of.
I contacted him in September of last year and I received the lease bonus in November.
Per Buzz’s recommendation I purchased one of the maps centered on my section last year. (Thanks, Buzz)
It was very helpful.
To- Mr Matthews
Just wondering how long Mr St Romain( or the others) usually take to provide information if they are interested in my property. Gave property information on 8/22/2012
I would appreciate your reply very much
