Go to: this should take you to the GIS map viewer. Great map and easy. I looked at all blocks in Reeves County and didn’t see a c-19, however could have overlooked. Found c-12-13 etc south of I-20 The RRC also has a GIS map but to me it is harder to find things.

thanks was easy i had abstract # found right away thanks for Buzz and googled it lots of attiveity close by
now tell me how to get them to drill on my place?? lol
I just found out that Oxy USA will be leasing east of the Pecos River, from Pecos up to Orla. Has anybody heard this?
That is a new player in the game as far as is my knowledge.
We have some acreage just south of Orla (leased to Anadarko), but have no real info on any drilling success (or failure) near.
Boy, I wish I knew the answer to that. We have wells being drilled (permitted) around several tracts, but not one on us…

We have land north of Orla and just east of the Red Bluff Reservoir. The Pecos runs through the lower corner. Chaparral has had a lease on the land down to 5500’, and did drill a well. Gas and some oil, not a lot. Last year Anadarko leased the land below Chaparral, but no activaty.
Where do you go to find well permits?
Thanks for the opportunity to join the group. I look forward to learning and sharing information on royalties and leasing. Best wishes, Dave S
How do royalties work if a company other than the one that holds your lease produces a well adjacent to your property? My mineral rights are leased to Anadarko, which has a new horizontal well permitted about a mile and a half away, but Energen has a new horizontal well permitted within 1/2 mile. With so many companies drilling all around us, how do they determine who gets paid if something produces?
Lori they obviously have to drill a well on your land for you to get paid.
Hopefully the offset well will create the need for them to do so.
Jed - I assume you refer to Chesapeake’s Toone #1 gas well that has been a very reliable natural gas producer with very little condensate since May 2009.

That was an uncharacteristic drop in Sep production… maybe that prompted your inquiry? Oct production should be posted by the 20th. With current very low natgas prices, maybe the well was taken off-line for maintenance?
As far as activity in the area, between this location and Pecos, there is a remarkable level of activity, mostly vertical wells searching for oil from 8,000 to 12,000’. Generally… ~40 rigs running in Reeves County, 20-25 of which are South/Southwest/Southeast of Pecos.
Hope this helps – Later – Buzz
Where is your acreage located, please?
This is 5 acres in Section 14, Block C-5, PSL Survey. That’s all I know right now. The rest of my land is in Section 2, Block 55 but I haven’t had offers for that yet.
Scotsy – PSL Block C-5, Section 14 is ~17 miles Southeast of Pecos.

All – Chesapeake is looking to divest all its natgas producing properties in Culberson and Reeves counties (mostly around Toyah).

has any of u dealt with crucial energy solutions? how long after offer until money in hand???
I received a letter yesterday & MGM Oil & Gas wants to lease 5 acres. I haven’t been able to talk to the Landman yet to ask why they only want to lease 5 of my 339 acres. Any ideas? Also, they are offering $100 per net mineral acre bonus for 5 yrs. w/ a 3/16 royalty ($500). From what I’ve read, the $500 is a very low offer & also that some are asking for 4/16 royalty. Any advice or comments?
