Renville County Activity

I'm new to this site but think it will be very informative. First question (and it's been asked before but I haven't found the answer yet) does anyone know how the Trout well is doing?? I checked the web site ESER but it is no longer listed there. Wondering because our minerals are next door so to speak.

Second question, what is the purpose of the Seismic activity? I think it might be a way of checking to see if there is oil in the ground but not sure.

Third question, does the drilling company need to go to court for a drilling permit or court approval before they start doing anything. What I'm asking I guess is should I be checking the Hearing Docket or the Daily Activity Reports to see if our minerals are going to be drilled. Our minerals have been under contract for four years now (expires next year) so hopefully something will start real soon.

Welcome to the site Lydia! The last I heard about the Trout well was that they are re-tooling to continue with the well. I don't know though if that is fact or not. I too have mineral rights close to this Trout well. I guess the best answer I can give you to your questions is. regarding the seismic, I think you are correct in what you said, it's used to study the formations beneath the surface to determin the likelyhood of oil being there. I remember when as a child back there on the farm, they were doing it then, back in the fifties. I don't know anything about the legal aspects of this, sorry.
Good luck.

Leo

Leo, Thank you for the information. Do you know what I should be checking on the ndoilorg site; the daily activity or the court docket? I'm new to this so not sure of the procedures except for what I've read. Thanks for any and all help, info. Have a great night.

Welcome Lydia, The last that I heard was that they put some thing down the hole to get it to

produce more, and it quit producing, and that they took the pump jack away.

Ron

Thank you Ron, It doesn't sound like the Trout well did so good. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. I will continue to dream anyway, dreams are free, lol......

ya dreams are free, are you related to Bob Loomis?

Ron Mayer

Yes Ron, he is my uncle. Donald Loomis was my dad.

Trout is TA'd.(Temporarily Abandoned) All equipment is still present including the pumping unit. Is presumed to have been sold to another company.
