I was contacted by a Division Order analyst for Citizen Energy wanting me to sign DOs by Roan Resources for two wells (Sec 15-9N-5W). I have a legitimate interest in both wells. However, RR has not been paying its royalties and someone filed a complaint with the County Clerk in Grady yesterday. I also never received a pooling notice or was asked to sign a lease by Roan Resources. There seems to be a lot of horse-trading between Roan and Citizens. How do I get my pooling bonuses and should I sign the DOs at the moment? Thanks in advance for any information.
Citizens bought Roan Resources. If it were me, I would sign the Division Orders if they are correct since Citizens is responsible for the royalties. However, you may not be able to if you never leased and never were force pooled. You don’t want to sign for the wrong royalty. You may need to fuss at Roan for the back royalties and pooling or lease issue.
Did you have royalties from older wells in the section? If so, you may already be leased. Does the Drabek well sound familiar? Linn Operating was the predecessor to Roan Resources. Western Oil and Gas and Hamil Oil & Gas also had it.
Thanks so much. Yes, Drabek does ring a bell. I’l have to go through my files. But I thought Riviera was the successor to Linn. - oh, just googled it and found that Linn split into a number of different companies, including Roan and Citizens and Riviera. Seems to be a lot of trading of shares, private and public. I appreciate your information.
So I queried the DO analyst on pooling and she replied that the wells are being held by a lease signed by my grandmother in 1983 for an initial term of 3 years to Oklahoma Independent Leasing Inc. Wow. I found the actual lease through the OKCountyRecords website. Does someone know how I can determine what wells might have been/are still producing in Sec 15, 9N-5W from way back then? And how to determine the evolution of Oklahoma Independent Leasing Inc to Citizens Energy? TIA.
You can look up all wells for section 15-9N-5W on the OCC well records site. It will have the filed documents for the wells. Use leading zeros for the legal location. Wells are filed by their surface location.

Drabek produced from Dec 1986 to July 2018. Hamil Oil and Gas is the operator now. Western Oil Gas Development Corp was the operator until Nov 12, 209. You can find the addresses on the site listed above.
The leasing company may have flipped the lease to another operator along the way. You can follow the operators as they change by looking at the 1073 forms for the wells.
The production for wells in 15 may be found on the OK tax site. Use leading zero in the location box for 09N and 05W. The wells that you care about now are the Victory Slide wells.
