We have royalty interests in Sec 9 Block 36 T-4-N and are entertaining on offer to purchase those royalties. I see on the Railroad commission that there is a producing well in that section and several dry holes in the area along with a permit for a horizontal well. I am wondering if anyone has information about activity in this area or has information on the value of such interests. Thank you for any insights.
Hello @ShellyG, we have seen an uptick in activity over the last 12-18 months. There have been vertical wells drilled in the County for many years, some of these fields are very strong, like the Welch Unit in northern Dawson. There have also been horizontal wells drilled in the area, some have been so-so and others look much stronger. A good approach if you are thinking to sell can be to sell half of your interest. If you have received a high offer, sell half the interest and hold half the interest. Take some money off the table.
