Hello, I inherited mineral rights to 3 different wells, leased by 3 different companies. Newfield, Continental, and Daylight Petroleum. We get all this paperwork in the mail with a check, it might as well be written in ancient sand-script because I can’t make heads or tails of it. I also understand that we have a court case with Newfield but have no idea when that will be settled. Do you have any advise on how I should go about learning to read the stuff they send me so I can be better informed? Thank you
First step is to give us the legal descriptions of the property-- Section, Towship and Range. For example, Section 20, Township 2 Noeth, Range 3 West. That will make it easier to give property-specific answers.
