HAS ANYONE found they’re royalty statement production numbers to be less than what was reported to the State?
If so, how did you resolve it? Especially those in WV. Thank you.
If you are talking about gas, the numbers rarely match exactly for a variety of reasons. Depending upon the state regulations, the numbers reported may be production numbers from the meters on site, but your royalty check is what is actually sold. There may be line loss along the way, leaks, shrinkage, bad meters, recalculations of gas oil ratios, etc. You can call the operator and ask for an explanation, but don’t get your hopes up on a straight answer.

Mine have never matched, oil or gas. The amounts are “close enough for government work” and I think they seem to even out overall in time.
